“You Can Be A Star in Navarre” to Showcase Local Talent Starting May 20, 2009
Beginning qualifying rounds for the exciting contest, “You Can Be A Star in Navarre”, will be hosted by Island Time Entertainment. Starting on May 20 at Johnny Huston’s Grille & Bar on Hwy. 98, the contest will continue through the summer where participants, visitors and locals can participate or be entertained by great performances on nearly a weekly basis.
The schedule for the quarterly qualifying rounds is: May 20 and May 27, 2009, at Johnny Huston’s Grille & Bar, 7634 Hwy. 98, Navarre; May 28 and June 11 at T.C.’s Front Porch, Hwy 98 at the Navarre Beach Bridge, Navarre. An hour of ‘open singing’ will precede each qualifying round, and sign-up for the contest begins at 8:30 pm. Up to 14 singers can compete during the evening.
“Be A Star in Navarre” will continue throughout the summer, culminating with a great night of entertainment on Sept. 10, in Navarre Park on the GNBAA stage, open to the public. The grand prize will be $1000.00 to the winner.
Current sponsors for this event are: the Greater Navarre Beach Arts Assn, Island Time Entertainment, Johnny Huston’s Grill & Bar, and TC’s Front Porch bar and restaurant.

Thursday: September 10, 2009 – 6 pm to 10 pm – Navarre Park
“You Can Be A Star in Navarre” Singing Contest hosted by Tom & Jan of Island Time Entertainment. Starting with a brief flag ceremony, presented by American Legion Rider Post 382 to commemorate Sept.11, the Legion will honor those lost on Sept. 11 and our military. Up to 15 talented singing contestants will vie for the $1000.00 grand prize donated by Johnny Huston’s Grille & Bar.

Thursday, September 17, 2009 – 6 pm to 10 pm – Navarre Park
Music in the Park featuring local talented ‘Garage Bands’ from Navarre High School. OK, it’s not the music you grew up with – but it IS the music of TODAY – Heavy Metal, Funk, Alternative – reflecting the musical popular with today’s young people. Featured Bands to be announced soon with Face Book links to hear their music.
